Migrate from Another Server
Moving a site from another server or control panel to XAXA takes four steps: create, copy, test, switch DNS.
1. Create the site on XAXA
Add a site with the same domain and type, and create a database with the same name if possible.
2. Copy files
From the new server, as the site user, pull the files from the old one with rsync:
ssh example@new-server
rsync -avz OLD_USER@old-server:htdocs/example.com/ ~/htdocs/example.com/
Adjust the source path to wherever your old panel keeps site files (often /home/<user>/public_html, /var/www/<domain> or /home/<user>/htdocs/<domain>).
3. Copy the database
On the old server:
mysqldump -u OLD_DB_USER -p OLD_DB_NAME > dump.sql
Copy dump.sql to the new server and import it:
mysql -u NEW_DB_USER -p -h 127.0.0.1 NEW_DB_NAME < dump.sql
Update the database credentials in your app config (wp-config.php, .env, …).
4. Test, then switch DNS
Test the new server by adding it to your local hosts file:
203.0.113.10 example.com
When everything works, change the DNS record, wait for it to propagate and issue a Let's Encrypt certificate under Settings → Domain & SSL.
Cron jobs and vhost tweaks
Re-create cron jobs in the Cron tab, and copy custom nginx rules into Settings → Vhost.
